Trump says will 'de-escalate' in Minneapolis after shooting backlash

Donald Trump has promised to “de-escalate” his hardline stance on illegal immigrants after facing a backlash from business groups, religious leaders, and fellow Republicans.
The presumptive Republican nominee for president told CNBC’s John Harwood that he was prepared to soften his position on illegal immigrants in order to appeal to more moderate voters. The announcement came just one day after Trump threatened to deport all 11 million undocumented immigrants if elected.
Trump has faced intense criticism from business groups and religious leaders over his plan, which could impact nearly every industry in America. One of the biggest issues for many is the fact that his proposed crackdown would include targeting family members who are here legally and contributing to society.
The backlash against Trump’s immigration policy comes as no surprise given how he has handled this issue throughout his campaign. While running for office back in 2015, he promised to build a wall between Mexico and America but later changed course after realizing it wouldn’t work financially or politically speaking. Instead of building walls though; he wants us (as Americans) instead focus on “deporting them all”. This is something very extreme considering we have over 11 million people living amongst us without proper documentation; most whom contribute positively towards our nation through hard labor jobs etc... So why not just give amnesty instead? We'll never solve anything by doing things half way; especially when dealing with such a large problem like this one.
