No longer works in 2025?
What should you do instead?
The short answer is you should have some cash tucked away for such an eventuality. We'll get to that shortly. But first, let's consider where we're going wrong.

The problem with work as we know it today is the 9-5 model. It was established in 1926 and has been around ever since. This time frame is arbitrary; however, it is convenient for many people to have their workday match up with when children get home from school or during naptime. That's why it remains unchanged.
3
But if you are one of the people trying to make a change, you need some ideas on where to start. There are no quick fixes or instant changes; most likely, you will be in for the long haul. So, let's get started on your journey away from the traditional work model.

First things first You have to take care of yourself! It sounds easy enough, but it is not a simple task to do. If you are like me and have always been the go-getter, the hard worker, or the one who would stay late to get the job done – then this will be a challenge.
5
I found that I had put off everything for work until there was nothing left. It took me years of being sick and tired and mentally exhausted before it finally hit me You have to take care of yourself! So, how do you find the time?
6
Start by doing what I did and keep a journal to track all of your tasks at hand. Next, schedule in some downtime for yourself! Set a timer if necessary so that you are not distracted from this important task.
7
The key is to stick with it. Take it one day at a time, and soon enough, you will see the benefits of self-care. If this is too much work for you right now, then maybe start with just 15 minutes a day until you build up that self-care muscle.
8
Next on your journey away from traditional work models You need to find more time! That sounds impossible, but it's not. You can do it if you try.
9
The trick is to figure out how much time you have left and then start working backward from there.
For example, if you have a 20-year-old company that is running itself and making money while you are away – then congratulations! You've just found yourself some time.
10
Now take that time and break it down into chunks throughout the week or month so that it doesn't seem quite as daunting as an open-ended block of time does.
11
The key here is to not burn out by trying to do everything at once but instead focus on one thing at a time until you've accomplished your goal.
