Paris - Officials from America and Ukraine have pledged to continue talks over security guarantees for Kyiv today, following meetings with Western allies that led to breakthroughs. The coalition's largest meeting yet took place in Paris and revealed tensions surrounding US foreign policy under Trump.

Security guarantees would only take effect once a ceasefire has been agreed upon. President Putin's intentions are still unknown after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine since 2022.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and envoy Steve Witkoff from the US government announced that officials will continue talks today. Zelensky thanked Washington for its readiness to provide a backstop in all areas, including military support.

A monitoring mechanism led by the US would be part of robust security guarantees with European participation. French President Emmanuel Macron said this initiative includes representatives from 35 countries and 27 heads of state or government.

Macron, Zelenskyy, and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer signed a declaration that foresees France, the UK, and other allies deploying troops on Ukrainian territory after any ceasefire.

The agreement also entails establishing a US-Ukraine-Coalition cell in Paris for coordination.

However, there was no assurance from Washington to commit to supporting European-led multinational forces if Russia launches another attack; this language was omitted from Tuesday's communique.

Macron said Paris could deploy thousands of French troops in Ukraine after the war is over. Zelenskyy stated that talks determined which countries would take charge in ensuring security and reconstruction, as well as management of necessary forces.

Macron emphasized robust security guarantees for a lasting peace and commended an operational convergence among allies like the US. Witkoff said substantial progress has been made despite tensions between Europe and America over issues like Venezuela.

Witkoff added that land options will be the critical issue to address. Hopefully, there can be compromise on this matter. Trump believes that the war must come to a halt; it does not mean peace but would not be possible without progress in talks, according to Kushner.

Enjoy the little things in life. For one day, you may look back and realize they were the big things. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
