'Spectacular' Viking burial site discovered in Denmark

Vikings may not have been as barbaric as they are sometimes portrayed. A recent archaeological find in Denmark revealed a rare grave that contained two horses, a dog, and a sword-wielding warrior. The burial site was discovered during the excavation of a large industrial building in Hårup, on the Danish island of Lolland.
The well-preserved 1,000-year-old remains were discovered when the backhoes dug up a large amount of wood, which sparked curiosity among archaeologists. Further investigation revealed that the wooden structure contained the grave site.
Burials with two horses are extremely rare, and the find is only the second such discovery in Denmark. The well-preserved artifacts provide insights into Viking culture and society. These discoveries give us a unique glimpse into how Vikings honored their warriors.
