Personal remittances expanded by 3.7% to reach $3.33 billion, with cash remittances alone growing 3.1% to $2.99 billion – a new high for 2025.

Of the $2.99 billion in cash remittances, land-based OFWs contributed $2.43 billion – up 3.7% year-on-year – while sea-based OFWs sent $555 million, a 3.5% increase.

Year-to-Date Performance A Positive Trend

Through the first half of 2025, personal remittances grew by 3.1% to reach $18.67 billion, up from $18.10 billion recorded in January-June 2024. First-half cash remittances totaled $16.75 billion, a 3.1% increase over the same period last year.

Top Remittance Sources

The United States was the top source of cash remittances for the January-June period, accounting for 40.1% of the total. This was followed by Singapore (7.1%), Saudi Arabia (6.2%), Japan (5.0%), and the United Kingdom (4.9%).
