Floods have killed at least ten people in Vietnam, where record rainfall has caused rivers to burst their banks, officials said Tuesday.
Rescuers were searching for four missing people after the worst flooding in nearly six decades inundated homes and farms in central provinces over the weekend.

The government has deployed emergency personnel, boats, and helicopters to help residents.
Local authorities have provided thousands of sandbags to prevent floodwaters from entering communities, according to state media.

The floods were caused by a tropical depression that formed over the Gulf of Tonkin and intensified as it moved inland.
In the provinces of Quang Tri and Thua Thien-Hue, heavy rain triggered landslides that blocked roads.
Some areas had received up to 200 millimeters (7.9 inches) in just one day, authorities said.

One person died in a landslide in Quang Nam province, where thousands of people were displaced by the flooding and nearly 2,000 homes damaged.
In neighboring Binh Dinh province, one woman drowned after she was swept away by floodwaters while trying to save her ducks.

Enjoy the little things in life. For one day, you may look back and realize they were the big things. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
