Russia Plane Crash Leaves 29 Dead – A Terrible Tragedy in Crimea

A Russian passenger plane carrying 110 passengers and crew crashed after takeoff from the resort town of Anapa, located on the Black Sea coast. The Antonov AN-148, operated by Saratov Airlines, went down just outside Moscow shortly after taking off from Domodedovo Airport.

There are no survivors, according to authorities. Thirty-two people were killed at the scene, and 29 more died later in hospital due to burns and injuries sustained during the crash. The cause of the crash is under investigation by a commission formed by Russia's General Prosecutor's office.

The plane was bound for Orsk, a city in southwestern Russia, where it had been scheduled to make a stop before continuing on to Saratov. It lost contact with air traffic control around six minutes after taking off from Domodedovo Airport at 231 pm local time (1031 GMT).

According to the emergencies ministry, emergency services were dispatched immediately upon receiving news of the crash. Emergency workers have recovered fragments of the plane's black boxes, which record cockpit voices and flight data. They are expected to help authorities determine what caused this terrible tragedy.

The passengers had been on a week-long vacation in Crimea before returning home today via Anapa, located less than 40 miles away from where their flight ended tragically.

Enjoy the little things in life. For one day, you may look back and realize they were the big things. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
