The Future of Rubio US, China at 'strategic stability' ahead of Trump trip
In a series of diplomatic engagements with Beijing this week, the United States has reached an agreement that ensures strategic peace will be maintained while President Donald Trump is on his upcoming trip to Asia. The two sides have agreed not to use any force against each other and to maintain military and economic cooperation.
This agreement was brokered by Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, who met with Chinese leaders in Beijing earlier this week to discuss matters related to national security. During these meetings, Senator Rubio made it clear that he would not allow any tensions between the US and China during President Trump's visit to Asia later this month.
Senator Rubio stated The United States and China share common interests when it comes to maintaining regional stability throughout Asia – including in the South China Sea where there are ongoing territorial disputes. He further added As such, we must work together whenever possible to prevent conflict from occurring.
The Chinese government has also agreed not to use any force against North Korea or its people while President Trump is visiting the region; they have committed themselves to working towards a peaceful resolution with Pyongyang through diplomatic means rather than military action. Additionally, both countries have agreed upon maintaining economic cooperation for mutual benefit.
This agreement between Washington and Beijing comes as welcome news considering tensions were high after reports surfaced last month indicating North Korea had successfully tested an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of reaching parts of the United States' mainland population centers such as Los Angeles or Chicago if launched from within Pyongyang's territory .
