The Philippine National Police (PNP) has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to community safety by swiftly arresting three suspects involved in a shooting and illegal possession of firearms in Quezon City.

In response to a 911 call, police officers intercepted the suspects, including a 30-year-old man with visible signs of injury, who was found carrying an undocumented .45-caliber pistol. The suspect was promptly taken to the Quezon City General Hospital for treatment.

As the police processed the scene, two additional suspects, ages 64 and 42, arrived on a motorcycle. One of them attempted to flee, but was apprehended. During the investigation, police recovered a high-capacity .45-caliber pistol, ammunition, a bulletproof vest, and an 18-inch bolo from the suspects.

The incident began with a heated argument that allegedly escalated into physical violence. According to a 16-year-old witness, the older men attacked and stabbed the injured man, who then grabbed a firearm and fired several shots. A crime scene inspection revealed one live .45-caliber round, one fired cartridge case, and one deformed bullet.

All suspects are currently in custody, and cases for attempted homicide, attempted murder, and violation of Republic Act 10591 are being prepared for inquest.

We will not tolerate the use of firearms to threaten lives. The PNP will respond with the full authority of the law and pursue offenders relentlessly, said PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.

Violence has no place in our community. Those who violate the law will face its full force, he added.
