Popular 1980s actress Loni Anderson of the hit TV series 'WKRP in Cincinnati' has died

Edmonton's Loni Anderson passed away at her home after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Her work as an actress, writer, and activist was widely praised.
The daughter of Norwegian immigrants, Anderson grew up in poverty in the city's south side. Despite these hardships, she persevered and achieved success through hard work and determination.
Anderson began her career in show business as a dancer, but quickly transitioned to acting after being discovered by legendary Hollywood producer Jerry Weintraub. He was so impressed with her talent that he cast her opposite Jack Nicholson in one of his films.
From there, Anderson went on to star in countless movies and TV shows over the years – including WKRP In Cincinnati, which became an instant classic among fans of 80s pop culture. Her performance as Amanda Belle Maines earned her two Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress (Drama).
In addition to acting, Anderson was also a dedicated activist who used her platform to advocate for mental health awareness and animal rights causes throughout the world.
