The Junior Altas of the University of Perpetual Help have secured a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Season 101 boys volleyball tournament. This impressive achievement comes after their 25-16, 23-25, 25-19, 25-17 victory over San Sebastian College on Monday at the Arellano University Gym in Pasay City.

Led by team captain Gabriel Macatuno's game-high 18 points, the Junior Altas demonstrated their prowess on the court. Cholo Bustamante and Limuel Valderama also made significant contributions, scoring 16 and 12 points, respectively. Setter Donald Sison played a crucial role, delivering 11 excellent sets and 7 receptions that supported the team's overall performance.

The Junior Altas' victory has secured their spot in second place in Group A behind Mapua, with a 10-1 record. Their twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals will undoubtedly give them an edge in the next round.

In other games in the boys division, Emilio Aguinaldo College defeated San Beda University, 22-25, 25-15, 25-16, 25-22, while Jose Rizal University outplayed La Salle Greenhills, 25-18, 25-21, 25-21. Letran and Arellano University share the lead in Group B with identical 9-2 slates.

The top two teams in each group will have the twice-to-beat edge in the next round, setting the stage for exciting matches ahead.
