Title Eala and Tjen Serve Up a Thrilling Quarterfinal Win at Abu Dhabi Open

Tennis enthusiasts were treated to an electrifying performance by Filipino tennis ace Alex Eala and Indonesian partner Janice Tjen as they secured a 7-5, 3-6, 10-6 victory over the Canadian-French duo of Leylah Fernandez and Kristina Mladenovic in the Abu Dhabi Open doubles quarterfinals.

The Southeast Asian pair demonstrated remarkable composure when faced with a tied score at 6-6 in the tiebreaker, ultimately stringing together four consecutive points to secure the win. Tjen delivered the final two points of the match, leaving the crowd on the edge of their seats as the duo celebrated their quarterfinal triumph.

Their victory sets them up for a showdown against either the Spanish-Chinese pair of Cristina Bucsa and Zhang Shuai or the Ukranian twin sisters Lyudmyla and Nadiaa Kichenok in the next round.

As Eala heads to Qatar and Dubai for more action-packed matches, she's listed among the players at the qualifying stages of the Qatar Open (February 8-14) and Dubai Tennis Championships (February 15-21). Although she usually qualifies for the main draw as a top 50 player, her smaller draw size in both tournaments means she'll need to earn her spot through the qualifiers. Joining her in the qualifiers will be familiar faces Tjen, Bucsa, Hailey Baptiste, Magda Linette, and Kimberly Birrell.

The likes of Amanda Anisimova, Mirra Andreeva, Maya Joint, Emma Raducanu, Elena Rybakina, and Aryna Sabalenka have already qualified for these events. As Eala prepares to take on the competition in her next matches, we can't wait to see what she has in store.

Enjoy the little things in life. For one day, you may look back and realize they were the big things. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
