China launches drive vs high-rise fire hazards

In Hong Kong, one of the deadliest fires ever occurred, prompting China to launch a campaign against fire hazards in high-rise structures.

2. The State Council Work Safety Committee sent a notice to start inspecting and repairing campaigns that would target major fire risks and dangers in high-rise buildings.

3. Inspections will focus on flammable or combustible material usage, bamboo scaffolding, non-flame-retardant safety nets, and coordinating development with safety to ensure these buildings are safe for residents.

4. This campaign has the potential to make a real difference in preventing fires from occurring in high-rises going forward.
