Honoring Excellence CFO to Recognize Outstanding Overseas Filipinos and Organizations in 2026

As we celebrate another year of remarkable achievements by our global Filipino community, the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) is proud to announce its plans to honor exceptional individuals and organizations through the Presidential Awards for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas (PAFIOO) in 2026.

The PAFIOO A Symbol of Excellence

Since its inception in 1991, the PAFIOO has been a cornerstone of CFO's efforts to recognize the invaluable contributions of overseas Filipinos to national development. This annual award has become one of the highest forms of recognition given by the Philippine government to individuals and organizations that uplift our country's name through service, excellence, and nation-building.

Four Categories of Recognition

The PAFIOO comprises four categories the Lingkod Kapwa Pilipino Award, the Banaag Award, the Pamana ng Pilipino Award, and the Kaanib ng Bayan Award. These awards recognize outstanding individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the Philippines' development and progress.

Notable Awardees in 2024

In 2024, we had the pleasure of honoring exceptional awardees, including Zita Cabais from France, who received the Banaag Award; Neurosurgery Outreach Foundation from the United States, which was honored with the Lingkod sa Kapwa Award; Melvin Sanicas from Switzerland, who received the Pamana ng Pilipino Award; and Bader Ahmed J. Al Zafeen from the United Arab Emirates, who was awarded the Kaanib ng Bayan Award.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As we look forward to 2026, the CFO is excited to announce that it will continue to recognize outstanding overseas Filipinos and organizations through the PAFIOO. This prestigious award is a testament to the power of global Filipino communities as partners in building our nation.

Conclusion

The PAFIOO is more than just an award – it's a symbol of excellence, a beacon of hope, and a reminder that our collective efforts can make a significant impact on our country's development. As we continue to strive for greatness, the CFO remains committed to honoring those who have made a difference in the lives of Filipinos around the world.

Enjoy the little things in life. For one day, you may look back and realize they were the big things. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
