AMG's first joint venture was with the Visayas Community Medical Center (VCMC), a Level 3 hospital in Cebu City. This was followed by the Davao City-based AppleOne Brokenshire Medical Corp., which experienced an impressive turnaround from operating losses in 2021 to positive EBITDA and NPAT, with a remarkable gross revenue increase of 53 percent.

The latest addition to AMG's portfolio is the United Shalom Hospital in Tacloban City, which has partially recovered from damage caused by Super Typhoon Yolanda in 2013. The hospital's new building is expected to double its revenue this year and register at least 28 percent EBITDA and 16 percent NPAT.

In the long term, AMG plans to set up satellite outpatient departments and primary care services within a 50-kilometer radius, providing underserved areas with high-quality medical care through a hub-and-spoke model. This expansion will address the shortage of beds and increase capacity for specialized care.

As API continues to develop its hospitality expertise, it's no surprise that its medical facilities prioritize patient satisfaction, featuring hotel-like amenities. The company is currently working on luxury developments like the Sheraton Mactan Resort and The Residences, as well as upcoming hotels like the Fairfield by Marriott Inns and Suites and Radisson Blu Hotel.
