Bolts' Brownlee-Hollis-Jefferson Duo Set to Dominate EASL
As anticipation builds for the upcoming matches in the EASL Home and Away Season 3, basketball fans are in for a treat. The highly-anticipated team-up between Justin Brownlee and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is finally set to take place as two of the PBA's most prolific imports join forces with Meralco. This exciting development takes center stage on December 6 at the Capital Arena in Ilagan, Isabela, when the Bolts face off against the Macao Black Bears.
The Brownlee-Hollis-Jefferson tandem was officially announced by the EASL, sparking excitement among fans and basketball enthusiasts alike. Four days from now, the rematch tips off – and this time, the Bolts are recharged by the EASL debut of Justin Brownlee, the fastest-growing regional basketball league stated in an official press release.
At 37 years young, Brownlee is coming off a successful stint with Gilas Pilipinas, where he averaged 21 points, four rebounds, and five assists. His impressive performance was capped off by a sweep of Guam in the first window of the 2027 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.
After missing the Bolts' initial EASL games due to a bout with pneumonia, Brownlee has since regained his conditioning and is raring to go. The three-time PBA Best Import's return marks a significant boost for Meralco, which had relied heavily on Hollis-Jefferson and Ismael Romero in the early stages of the season.
Despite opening the EASL Season 3 with back-to-back defeats, the Bolts have managed to recover and secure two consecutive wins at home. The winning streak was largely due to the contributions of Asian import Mohammad Sina Vahedi, who brought much-needed backcourt stability and instant offense to the team.
Meralco now sits in second place with a 2-2 record, just behind Taoyuan Pauin Pilots (2-1) in Group B. With Brownlee and Hollis-Jefferson joining forces, fans can expect an electrifying show on court as the Bolts look to make a strong push for the top spot.
