The 6th Asian Beach Games have officially kicked off at Sanya Bay in China,
China, and beach volleyball teams from the Philippines are gearing up for a
a fierce battle in the group-stage assignments. With 28 teams vying for sup
supremacy in the women's division and 35 teams competing in the men's divis
division, the stakes are high, and the competition is intense.

Tough Group-Stage Assignments

Sunny Villapando and Grydelle Joanice Matibag, seeded ninth in the women's 
field, have been drawn into Pool H alongside teams from Mongolia, Macao, an
and Kazakhstan. This pool promises to be a real challenge for the Filipino

continent. Since taking office in 2024, Suzara has made it his absolute top
top priority to elevate beach volleyball and provide vital platforms for at
athletes.

Global Stage

The Asian Beach Games play a crucial role in strengthening Asia's presence 
on the global stage, with the continental championship in Shangluo in Septe
September serving as a key step toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. The t
tournament features eight pools each in the men's and women's divisions, wi
with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout rounds.
