The Mindanao Leg of the Indigenous Peoples (IP) Games is just around the corner, set to take place on October 11-12, 2025. This annual event, backed by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), has received a green light from all stakeholders involved.

Co-hosted by the province of Agusan del Norte and the municipality of Buenavista, the PSC team, led by Commissioner Matthew Fritz Gaston, has worked closely with Governor Angela Amante's office and Mayor Joselito Roble's administration to ensure a successful event.

Celebrating Traditional Games
The games will be held at the Buenavista Central Elementary School, featuring 11 local government units, including Butuan City, participating in the PSC-initiated event. This initiative aims to promote traditional games of the IP communities in coordination with the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) and the schools division office of the Department of Education.

We are thrilled to partner with the PSC and NCIP for this event, which highlights our celebration of the IP month, said Governor Amante. Mayor Roble, who is hosting the event for the first time, expressed his full support for the endeavor.

All Systems Go
Commissioner Gaston praised the hosts' hospitality and cooperation, saying, We are confident that this Visayas leg of this year's IP Games will be a huge success, thanks to the 110% support of Governor Amante and Mayor Roble.

PSC Commissioner Edward Hayco will also join the opening ceremony on October 11, alongside Commissioner Gaston. The event will feature an IP forum and fellowship among participants.

All necessary arrangements are in place for a successful event.
